The band has just approved a new set of policies. They've been a very long time coming, but they are completed and adopted by the band this month.

Also, the re-opening of the Mechanicsburg
Museum is quickly approaching. A gala celebration is planned for
Saturday, August 27th, and the Singer Band will be there to perform.
The museum will open a new
exhibit of memorabilia from the 150 years of the Singer Band.

Coming in March, 2006:
The Singer Band will be featured in a PBS
television program called "Our Town: Mechanicsburg." Produced by
WITF-TV in Harrisburg, the program will showcase a variety of
interesting historical and cultural aspects of our
community.
We hope to have video clips available to
post soon. As they say, stay tuned!
Also, a rare home video of the band has
surfaced. Dating from approximately 1987, the VHS video shows the
band, under the direction of George Shaffer and including a few
still-current members, playing a Christmas program at one of our local
malls. That, too, will be cleaned up and made available on this
site soon.
